'Ocrevus butler' app

'Ocrevus Butler' is a mini-app designed for a worldwide leader in the healthcare industry. Its purpose is to guide MS patients during the beginning of their treatment and towards their therapy day and continue as a companion once that day is reached.

The brief

I was asked to design a tool that will provide useful knowledge about MS treatment and that will include the necessary information to help patients to prepare for their therapy day.

The challenges

The biggest challenge of this product was the physical and emotional state of its audience. We had to make sure we're building something that is considerate towards this in multiple layers: give high priority to accessibility because of physical challenges, keep interactions to a minimum in order to not overwhelm, and more. Ultimate goal: to be an "invisible" companion that brings clarity and guides the user to their therapy day with simplicity and focus.
Other things that complicated the design process, were the very strict visual rules coming from the Brand that were originally designed for off-screen media. We had to come up with a solution that follows these guidelines to a maximum without disregarding accessibility.

The solution

I decided to narrow it all down to one main function and design the app as a one-way journey to the final destination: the therapy day.
From the moment in which the patient finishes their onboarding, the 3 key-dates of preparation for the therapy day, are added in the calendar and become the actual menu in the form of a tab bar / timeline.
The user journey ends on the therapy day and, once this is reached, the interface and functionality of the app shifts from being a guide to being a companion. The look, feel and content must now serve the new purpose of keeping the patient company during the hours of therapy and provide useful information and knowledge articles.
